Making Time in the New Year
As you set goals in 2018, I want to challenge you to think not only about personal goals but also goals for your family. How do you want to love each other in 2018? What things will you put in place to help you do so? Research shows that writing down your goals after identifying them greatly improves your chances of accomplishing them.
It’s easy to see that one of the biggest threats to families is distraction. There are so many things that consume our time and it seems that as the years go by, and the more options there are to connect electronically, the more distracted we become. The solution to removing distractions starts with awareness but mainly lies in intentionallity.
My encouragement to you is to find three key ways in which your family intentionally plans ways you will show love to one another in the new year. As you discuss these things, make sure to move beyond ideas and discussions to action. Put some dates on the calendar. Perhaps pick up some cardstock for little notes that can be left. Moving from intention to action will help you implement this within your family so that you can see the results and the impact.
Happy New Year!
