Meet Jeff Veley - Youth Motivational Speaker

I’m on a mission to help schools Rethink Bullying® and resolve social problems (what I call SQUABBLES®). For two decades (I started young 😉), I’ve been working on the front lines helping young people, with an emphasis on reaching at-risk youth and victims of trauma. When it comes to anti-bullying messages, they don't work. They rarely reduce incidents of aggression by more than 20%, parents and schools are pitted against each other and everyone feels frustrated. Research shows that, after a 20+ year war on bullying, it is worse today than ever before.

As a kid who was tormented at school and experienced abuse at home, I know just how hard it can be to navigate social and emotional challenges. After cutting my teeth as a youth treatment specialist, I noticed that we taught skills everywhere but social conflicts. Rather than teaching kids to report it, I dedicated my career to teaching kids what they can do and say when someone is mean to them. Resilience and youth empowerment is my jam! When we teach kids how to solve social problems and stand up for themselves, they are less likely to be targeted and no longer feel helpless.

My story allows me to speak in a way that is both real and relevant. Combine this with a psychological approach to aggression, and you have a recipe for student success. My international award-winning message is combined with research-based follow-up programming, trusted by 3,000 schools, so that you have ongoing training and support.
