Meet Jeff Veley – Youth Motivational Speaker
I’m on a mission to teach students how to make friends and manage enemies. For over a decade, I’ve been working on the front lines helping young people, with an emphasis on reaching at-risk youth and victims of trauma. When it comes to the anti-bullying messages given today, they aren’t working. They rarely reduce bullying and leave parents, kids and teachers feeling frustrated and helpless. In fact, research shows that, after a 20-year war on bullying, it is worse today than ever before.
As a kid who was relentlessly bullied at school and abused at home, I know just how hard it can be to navigate social challenges. That’s why I’ve become a youth motivational speaker and social skills educator. I’ve dedicated my career to equipping students with the social and emotional skills that empower them to face adversity, grow in resilience, and solve their own social problems.
My story allows me to speak about bullying with young people in a way that is both real and relevant. Combine this with a psychological approach to stop aggression, and you have a recipe for student success. It’s far more effective than teaching kids to tell on their bully. Across the country, students are being empowered through school assembly programs and youth conferences. Additionally, grownups learn how to support kids through professional development training (staff in-service), education conference speeches, and parent workshops.
If you’re a caring adult, looking for a way to help kids solve social problems, I invite you to access the many resources for schools and parents on this website. Here you can learn more about the “Peace Sign Approach” to social aggression. I know that you’ll find my message to be a breath of fresh air from the typical anti-bullying strategies. I look forward to empowering YOU-th!
Peace,
Jeff Veley
